November, 2006
There are many things that I could write at this time but what my
heart wants to say is thank you. Thank you to all of you who held me
in the light and love of your compassion. Loosing a loved one is one
of life's great sorrows, yet the comfort and support of your thoughts
and words have made it bearable. I am forever grateful.
We often look for signs of life beyond death and I have been blessed
with many such signs both from Donald and others who have shed their
physical form. In closing, I'd like to share one such story with you.
The first gift Donald ever gave me was a heart of stone and a
feather. When he gave it to me, he said that it was a gift of Spirit,
a blessing from the winged ones, a blessing from the Earth, a
blessing for us. I never told anyone about the gift. They were placed
in the bundle of his sacred items to be cremated.
Shortly after he died, a woman who knew me but did not know him had a
dream. In the dream he stood in her backyard motioning to her with
his outstretched hands. She felt that he wanted to show her something
in the yard. She felt that it was a message for me. When she went to
the spot where she saw him in her dream, she looked down and found a
heart of stone and a feather.
We do not die but transform, shedding the pain and suffering of our
physical form. We become who we truly are. We become Love.
We, who are temporarily left behind, must learn to see in a different
way, trusting the gifts of Spirit however they appear. Love is our
essential nature and when we are no longer bound by physical form,
Love is carried by the four winds across the landscape of our
awareness, whispered to us in the dreamtime, forever beckoning us to
come closer and discover who we truly are.
Blessings,
